Product Information

NXT General Purpose (GP) Primer is an all purpose primer designed for maximum adhesion to a wide range of roof surfaces including glossy or very rough cement tiles, asphalt shingles, bituman, and other composite tiles.

Formulated from high quality, adhesion promoting acrylic resins, NXT GP Primer is ideally suited as a filler coat on rough cement tiles due to its high solids content. This improves the gloss appearance and coverage of all NuTech top coat systems such as NXT Cool Coat.

APPLICATION AND USAGE AMOUNT*

  • Use 0.6 Gal. per 100 Sq. Ft.*
  • *Usage amount will vary depending upon how old or dry the roofs are.
  1. The surface should be cleaned to remove all contaminants and dirt and any loose coating. A suitable surface is usually achieved using a highpressure water cleaner (greater than 2500 PSI).
  2. Reinforce and seal any weak areas as well as your hip and ridge grouting. We recommend using a high grade roof putty, such as CRS Mastic.
  3. Apply one coat of NXT GP Primer over clean, reinforced roof at a rate of 200 square feet per gallon.
  4. Allow 4-8 hours drying time between coats depending on temperature and humidity.

Product Limitations

GP Primer is not recommended for oxidised and powdery tiles (refer Nu-Prime) Do not apply GP Primer in very cold conditionsto avoid adhesion problems.
Do not apply GP Primer onto very hot surfaces. Flash drying may occur. Do not overcoat with any top coat system until GP Primer is completely dry
